Tessalyn Westfall sat at the table in the corner of the tavern, watching the other people go about their lives. The tavern was busy today, as it was on late evenings. She sat at one of the only tables that wasn't completely full. Actually, Tessa sat by herself. The girl was wearing a long green tunic with a belt and black leggings. She wore a jacket over top, which was also black. Tessalyn's blonde hair was braided back into a single braid.

As her turquoise eyes scanned the room, she picked up several different vibes coming from different people. There was a man at the bar with his head down, and he had a few empty glasses beside him. She could only assume his life had been rough on him lately. Another man, at the opposite end of the tavern, was talking to a woman who was much younger than him. He grabbed her arm and then another man punched him in the face. This started a small fight, which was quickly ended when the owner kicked both men out. Some of the tavern's customers left as well, probably wondering if the fight would continue outside.

Tessalyn preferred to keep to herself, and her face showed no emotion. No one would be able to tell why the girl was there if they just looked at her body language. They could guess that she was bored, at the least. The only reason that Tessa was there was of her boredom. It was raining outside and she had stepped out of her house for fresh air. Soon, she had settled into deep thought and began walking down the winding streets. When she regained her attention, she found herself soaked and standing outside of the tavern. She had decided to dry off in the building and order some food. There Tessa was now, just waiting for the motive to stand up and go get some food.

The girl glanced towards the kitchen. She wasn't hungry, but she knew that she hadn't eaten for at least two days and she would soon weaken if she wasn't careful. Tessalyn sighed.

Someone who seems to have the shadows on his side makes his way around the tables toward you. His face is covered with a thick hood, letting no light through. His robes appear light as he flicks them effortlessly through the small gaps between the tables. Finally, he reaches you, ignoring the stares from the rest of the patrons. Dropping a waterlogged note onto the table in front, he bows slightly before departing. You can barely see what the note says, as the handwriting is terrible, but you can make out the gist of it.

"Shining Ruby. Now."

The girl glanced sceptically at the man that was now weaving his way through the tables towards her. She didn't say a word when he stopped at her table and she didn't move when he dropped the note in front of her. Tessalyn watched him leave and as soon as he was out of the tavern, she picked up the note and ignored the rest of the people that were in the tavern. as soon as she read the note she set it down. Shining Ruby.. What is that supposed to mean? She wondered to herself while tilting her head back and staring at the ceiling. And who was that man? Shining Ruby...

The girl narrowed her eyes in frustration. There was a reason for this, she knew that much. But what? Could it be a place? A ship maybe? Now. Tessa wondered if she should leave the tavern to go look for the man, but she had a haunting suspicion that he was going to hard to find.

Then it hit her. Hadn't she once stayed at a place called the Shining Ruby Inn? "But that was in Vhalla..." She whispered. Tessa sighed. "Damn my sense of adventure." She cursed and got up from the table, leaving the tavern quickly.
